Purpose
The purpose of KFIA is to promote the development of food industry and the improvement of food  sanitation and thus contribute to the profit among food manufacturing industries and the  enhancement of health of the people

History
- 1969. 10. 7 the Korea Foods Industry Association (KFIA) was established
- 1986. 5. 10 the status of KFIA was changed to the legal association
- 1986. 5. 22 KFIA built it's own building
- 1986. 7. 4 KFIA's subsidiary Korea Advanced Food Research Institute(KAFRI) was open
- 1987. 4. 13 KAFRI was designated as an inspection agency for food sanitation by the Ministry of  Health and Welfare
- 1991. 4. 9 KAFRI was designated as an inspection agency for self-standard and specification of  sanitary wares by the ministry of health and welfare
- 1995. 8. 31 KFIA was designated as an education agency for food sanitation by the Ministry of  Health and Welfare
- 1997. 1. 4 KFIA was designated as an preliminary deliberation agency for food advertisement by  the Ministry of Health and Welfare
- 1997. 2. 19 KAFRI was designated as an inspection agency for drinking water quality by the  ministry of environment
- 1997. 2. 26 KAFRI was designated as an inspection agency for sanitary wares by the ministry of  health and welfare
- 1998. 4. 2 KAFRI was designated as an inspection agency for oriental folk medicine by the  ministry of health and welfare
- 2000. 5. 24 Designation as training center for high school teachers in the field of food science  by Incheon Metropolitan office of Education
- 2000. 5. 31 Designation as an imspection institute for sanitary live stock by National Veterinary  Research and Quarantine Service
